In 1993, a 10-year-old Holly Piirainen disappeared from Sturbridge, mass. His remains found months later, but her killers were never found.
Now, almost two decades later, the police using forensic techniques are perfected say they’ve identified someone they believe in girl’s murder scene.
The man, identified as David Pouliot, died in 2003. The cause of death was not known at this time.
Nevertheless, the Hampden County District Attorney Mark Mastroianni said today that he hopes a new lead will emit light on what happened 18 years ago was “a wonderful, sweet, innocent young girl.”
Researchers in 1993 collect several items of evidence might be near where the body of Piirainen’s found in October 1993. Check the items back with enhanced forensic method earlier this year, and one was determined to be linked to David Pouliot.
